Meet the Board Members
Atul Rawat
Atul Rawat is a well known historian, a published author and a journalist. He is also a public speaker with experience in administrative and advisory capacities both in Government and Non Government sectors in India and the United States. He first came to the United States on a Fulbright Fellowship in 1990 and was associated with George Washington University, as a visiting scholar. He has vast experience as writer, editor and publisher of books and journals in Hindi and English. As an education activist in India, he has given lectures all over India, particularly regarding historiography, distortions in Indian History, and about the stereotypes in history writing. The Government of India nominated him as a member to the board of Indian Council of Historical Research, the apex body of historians in India.
He strongly believes that education is a fundamental human right. Education is the most important vehicle in carrying the positive inheritance across generations. He advocates the benefits of pluralism to build a healthy cohesive society that appreciates the contributions and understands the aspirations of different communities.
Christopher Harshbarger
Christopher Harshbarger brings a wealth of experience in the tech and data analytics field. He graduated from UMBC with a degree in Computer Science in 2013, after which he joined the Federal Tech industry. With over seven years of experience working for industry heavyweights IBM and i2, he is well aware of the many growing challenges facing the education space today as a result of changing technology. Chris specializes in using big data analytics to solve real-world problems such as gun crimes, gang violence, cyber threat, and illicit drug trafficking.
He maintains the goal and passion of using tech to improve the lives of others. Whether that be making education easier to access or providing new ways of connecting people to education, he looks to use his unique skill set as a member of the Kiran Pathways board.
Andrew Belfast
Andrew Belfast comes from a highly positioned family of Attorneys and senior government functionaries in Trinidad. He came to New York as a student in 1981, to study Business Administration at New York University and has since made the United States of America his home. He pursued his American dream with hard work and integrity. He strongly believes that with perseverance and hard work one can achieve their goals. Even though he comes from an elitist background in the country of his birth, Andrew is a person with a very empathetic heart and connects easily with people across communities.
Andrew has excellent communication, management and leadership skills. His mission is to share and use his skills and life experiences to encourage and help youth to make informed life decisions. He strongly emphasises the role of education as a surety of success in pathways of life.
Besides community work, Andrew and his wife Ms. Robin are successfully running their own online streaming Radio Station "Golden RB."
